The only tent you need in the wind.
It’s crazy that I’m covering my full wind range with 4 sizes. And crazy that there’s still tons of overlap in wind range even with an increase up to 5m between sizes. Just to prove to myself how much they overlap, last Friday I flew the 8.5 5.5 13.5 then 3.5 back-to-back in a 30 minute period of equal wind. Wind speed was around 16 mph. Ideal for the 5.5m. But awesome to experience the crazy range and versatile kitefoiling fun of all sizes Cloud C.5.
An Animation Research Ltd animation, originally in stereoscopic 3D, which screened daily in the 'Waka Maori' pavilion (Auckland, New Zealand) during the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Starting with a version of the Maori Creation myth we then see the Sky Father and Earth Mother separated, before joining Maui and his brothers on a fishing trip which culminates in the catch of the North Island of New Zealand. Aoraki and his brothers also go on a sea voyage, and this results in the formation of the South Island. The final voyage is to Auckland, and the Waka Maori pavilion itself. The voiceover is by the awesome George Henare, from a script by John Broughton. Client: Te Mangai Paho . Read more about us at http://virtualeye.tv and http://arl.co.nz

Winds on Maui have been very light in general this winter so far. Foiling while kiteboarding definitely has its' advantages on these light wind days! This video is shot at Kanaha, Maui in about 6-12 knots of wind on Dec 28th & 29th, 2014

As had been pointed out on the highly informative "Glenn's daily weather narrative" http://www.hawaiiweathertoday.com/glenns-daily-weather-narrative/ a cold front was gradually descending on the Hawaiian Islands from the northwest. After reaching Kaui first, the band of showers at the front's leading edge would arrive at Oahu earlier on Feb. 6/17, reaching Maui by the early evening, and the Big Island overnight. This time-lapse (1 frame/s, played back at 30 f/s) captured only a few scenes of this recent blustery Kona (leeward side of the island) wind event. Kona winds are those which come from the general direction of the Big Island; often bringing volcanic haze (vog) from Volcanoes National Park (Kilauea). Kona winds are apparently active about 25% of the time, whereas the trade wind...
